LANSING, Mich. — After listening to Gov. Rick Snyder’s presentation of his proposed fiscal year 2019 state budget, Sen. Dale Zorn, R-Ida, issued the following statement:
“The governor laid out a balanced budget plan that continues our efforts to educate our children, attract investment and jobs to Michigan, provide essential services and make smart investments in our future.
“I was encouraged to hear about his priorities to make significant increases in funding for K-12 schools and career and technical education and to fix our roads and bridges.
“As a small business owner, I know that wise investments in these areas will benefit the entire state as we better prepare our children for success and more effectively compete for new jobs and investment.
“While this is just the beginning of the budget process, every year during my time in the Legislature, we have completed a balanced budget ahead of schedule that supports our students, protects our communities and improves our state. I look forward to doing that once again.”
