LANSING, Mich. Sen. Dale Zorn announced on Tuesday that Adrian will see a multi-million-dollar expansion to the Inteva plant thanks to a recently approved state economic-assistance incentive.

“There is great economic growth happening throughout Southeast Michigan and in Adrian,” said Zorn, R-Ida. “Adrian has a long history of automotive manufacturing. From the old Fisher Body plant to the Inteva plant today, Adrian automotive plants have contributed to our region, our state and our country’s success.

“This grant will support a $32 million expansion project that will support new automotive technologies and have the potential to create up to 127 jobs.”

Zorn addressed the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) board in support of the project.

After hearing from Zorn, the MSF approved a $1.27 million Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant to Inteva Products to support an expansion project in the city of Adrian. As part of the expansion, Inteva will invest in new equipment and machinery at the plant.

Inteva Products, LLC is a leading global automotive supplier providing automakers with innovative, reliable, environmentally friendly products that enhance vehicle quality, safety and performance. Inteva plans to produce new programs as a result of newly awarded automotive contracts. In addition to supplying the auto industry, the company provides highly engineered components and systems to the defense, consumer and other markets.

“Downtown Adrian is seeing major investment in restoring and rehabilitating historic properties that will make the area a better place to live, work and shop,” Zorn said. “This incentive and the overall expansion project illustrate the investment people are making in Adrian, and I applaud state, local and company officials for working together to make this project a reality.”
